East Coast Music Hall of Fame
Where would the music world be today without the legendary singers and bands who launched the rock ‘n roll era? While top lists and music industry charts may mention these singers, songwriters, and musicians, they do not get the attention and adulation they deserve in the face of modern hits. East Coast Music Hall of Fame has dedicated time and passion to honoring the best artists of the 1950s, 60s, and 70s.
Upcoming ECMHF Events and Nominations
In June of 2020, the East Coast Music Hall of Fame will host their awards show at Harrah’s Atlantic City Casino & Hotel in New Jersey. As a recognized nonprofit with 501(c)3 status, the organization continues operating with the help of their sponsors [i] and support of music fans who feel just as strongly about preserving history and supporting the artists as they do.
This year, they will present 12 Legend Awards and 14 Best Music Maker Awards, which include but are not exclusive to the following categories:[ii]
- Legend male or female soloist – lead singer – top 100 billboard from the 50s to the 70s
- Legend vocalist entertainer who performed with a top 100 billboard group
- Legend vocal group in the R&B, soul, and disco genres
- Legend vocal group – ladies of doo-wop, pop, or jazz
Amid these and other praise-worthy categories lies a wealth of talent that has not been recognized with other awards shows or halls of fame. Voting for your favorites goes on from March 31 through April in preparation for the main event in Atlantic City.
Lifetime achievement awards for exceptional musical influencers like Tony Orlando, Gloria Gaynor, The Manhattan Transfer, and Dionne Warwick also be given out at this two-day summer event. These are just some of the individuals and groups worthy of legendary status when it comes to their popularity, skill, success, and strong impact on the entire music industry at large.
A Celebration of Influence for Music Lovers on the East Coast
Unlike other organizations that look far afield to discover talent in every corner of the country or globe, this music Hall of Fame nonprofit group focuses closer to home. Launched by legendary artist Tommy Petillo of the Duprees[iii] and vice president Bill Grieco,[iv] it celebrates singers, songwriters, musicians, and whole groups from Florida to Maine and in every Eastern city and town along the way.
The geographic limits do nothing to reduce the number of amazing artists on the nomination list and membership rolls of the East Coast Music Hall of Fame. The tighter focus allows more unique and exceptional music makers to get the recognition they deserve. Every single one of the inductees and nominees for this and every years’ legends awards deserves appreciation and gratitude for the mark they made on the musical culture still enjoyed to this day.
Every year, the East Coast Music Hall of Fame gathers together some of the brightest and best people involved in the industry both past and present in a celebration of music and culture. Become a part of supporting and applauding the artists’ contributions when you cast your vote today.
